Students will be given a homework packet on Monday which will be due on Friday. The homework will reflect what is being taught during class time and review what students have previously learned. It is extremely important that students complete their homework every night because this will help reinforce what is being taught during school hours. If your child does not understand a part of their homework it is okay for them to skip questions or leave that portion blank, and ask for help. Please just write a note so that I know that your child did attempt the homework.
Student agenda books will need to be signed by a parent/guardian EACH night. I will be checking their agenda book each morning. This will also be a good way for us to communicate.
Also, students should be spending a significant amount of time reading at home. This is essential and will help them reach the benchmark reading level by the end of the school year. Please let me know if you need any books. I would be more than happy to send some home with the students. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of reading at home!!!!
